An Update,

It has been a long time, I've been busy with so much. RE:Wound is starting to really take shape and I'm excited to share a little about what that means going forward.

I've just finished rewriting the character controller, rewriting how the device works, and finally rewriting how buttons and signals work. All these changes have very little effect on how the game feels, but allow for much more streamlined development going forward. Here is the bad news, the rewrites break most of the original levels. I begin work tonight on rebuilding the levels, as well as finally getting to building the new levels that started this whole mess of a rewrite.

All this being said, story and art are the next areas to redesign. I have the setting started but unfortunately much of that will require new art assets. Going to avoid those for now and make heavy use of ProBuilder in Unity to get the area's outlined and ready. Will still be moving to interior scenes as I discussed previously but will need more open rooms than my previous design allowed.

Once most I have the original game rebuilt(with or without new art), I'm wanting to get a build released on the games page. After that I'm thinking about doing a "Live Dev Day" where I'll stream my development on the project and post builds as quickly as they are ready, fixing issues and implementing ideas at request. I think that'll be a fun event for down the line.

In conclusion, while it has been quite some time I promise it has not been wasted. I've been busy with life, work, and learning when not focused here. The lessons learned in that time will provide a foundation for rapid growth going forward. I can't wait to share the updates and look forward to showing off new levels soon!
